Most importantly: the rooms had great air conditioning! Everything was very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was very good every morning. The staff was always super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We stayed 2 nights, then went out to a couple of jungle lodges for 3 nights. When we were done in the jungle we decided not to fool around looking for another hotel. Copasu had everything we wanted and we were so glad to come back to this hotel for our last two nights in Puerto Maldonado. This place was so great!!

The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Went out of there way to help me, including accommodating my vegan diet for breakfast (even though I didn't ask, they asked me) and walked with me to show me an money exchange place with great rates. The grounds are well kept with lots of plants. The room was clean, beds soft, hot showers, and the AC worked well. There is a microwave to heat food down stairs. Is a short 5 to 7 minute walk from the city center. I plan to stay here again and would recommend it!

From outside this hotel is not very good looking but the bedrooms was very comfortable, clean, with huge comfort beds and hot water in the bathrooms.
Highly recommend to travelers who want to spend a night to Puerto Maldonado and continue the next day for a two or three nights tour to Amazon jungle. For the difficult circumstances of the life in Puerto Maldonado was perfect!

The staff is by far the greatest asset of Gree Diamond Lodge. They are exceptional. The beds could be improved. In my opinion the single best improvement they could make is finding a way to provide fans in the rooms, possibly powered by solar. Pretty small town, and only visited the area around centro (Plaza de Armas), but it was well-kept and had plenty of restaurants and a bank. Ate at two nearby restaurants (Burgos's and Carrion32), both of which were quite good and reasonably priced. It's also only 15-20 soles to ride a tuktuk-like taxi to or from the airport, and each fits up to 3x passengers if you are not carrying a ton of luggage. The taxis are fun too!

The town itself is basic but it's a great base for many nearby places to see wildlife. There are a lot of great day tours in the area, so you can stay in Puerto two or three days and do day tours while you organize an overnight trip. Many tour agencies charge more for online reservations because platforms charge them up to 25% commission. If you go to Puerto Maldonado you can book all your tours in person. There is a small street just off the Plaza de Armas with a dozen agencies. Walk around, compare service and prices before choosing day tours. There is not much to do in the city itself.
There is not much to do in the city itself. No reason to visit the city except as a starting point for visits to the Tambopata reserve near by. That is certainly worth a visit of several days, Lago Sandoval, Collpa de Chuncho, adventure day with canopy walks, ziplines, kayaks, etc. The three different guides we experienced during our stay were excellent, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Everytime you want to do a tour you have to go first to Puerto maldonado ( which od not a problem because the owner arrange everythink for you) Higly recommend a tour im the forest nearby the Passiflora. Lots of information regarding plants. The owner van help to arrange ceremony.

This was a nice touch but I had to pay for it… 30 soles extra was charged for my stay that I wasn’t happy about but receiving the dog bed for loan for the night made up for my disappointment.
